Periyapatna: In separate cases, Periyapatna Police have arrested two persons on charges of committing house burglaries and have recovered two bikes and cash from them. The arrested have been identified as Raghu and Manikanta, residents of Hitnehebbagilu village in the taluk.
At Hitnehebbagilu, Periyapatna Police had registered cases of house burglaries at the houses belonging to one Kamaraju on Sept. 14 and one Harish on Mar. 8. The burglar had decamped with Rs. 1 lakh cash from each house.
The Police, following a tip off, arrested Raghu and recovered Rs. 35,000 cash besides seizing a bike used for the crime.
In another case, the Police have arrested Manikanta, who had burgled the house of one Manju in the same village about three months ago and had decamped with Rs. 1.2 lakh cash which Manju had withdrawn from the bank. The Police, acting on a tip off arrested Manikanta and have seized a bike used for the crime.
Dy.SP P. Bhaskar Rai supervised Circle Inspector Siddaiah, SIs Ravikiran and Siddaiah and staff Aslam Pasha, Hidayat, Rudresh, Manju, Habibulla, Kantharaj and Shankar, in the nabbing and seizing operation.
