Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants, who gained entry into a locked house, have decamped with cash and gold jewellery worth Rs. 3 lakh from the house. The burglary took place at the house of one Ravi, located at R.S. Naidu Nagar in Kesare 2nd Stage in city.
Ravi, on Feb. 21 afternoon, locked his house and gone out of station. When he returned on Sunday morning, he found the lock of the door broken. Upon entering the house, Ravi found the door of the almirah forcibly opened and found one 25-gram gold necklace, 40-gram gold chain, eight-gram gold bracelet and earrings worth about Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 70,000 cash, all stolen.
N.R. Police, led by Inspector Shekar, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and registered a case. Dog Squad and Fingerprint experts were also pressed into service.
Despite urging the residents to inform us (Police) when they go out of station so that the we can keep a watch on the house, most of the residents do not pay heed to this request, leading to such burglaries in city, the Police personnel said.
