House burgled in N’gud: Rs. 20,000 cash, gold ornaments stolen

Nanjangud: In a daylight house burglary, miscreants who broke into a house at Ramaswamy Layout on the outskirts of Nanjangud, have decamped with Rs. 20,000 cash and gold ornaments yesterday.

The burglary took place in the house of Lokesh, an employee of AT&S and Sunitha couple.

The couple, yesterday at about 11 am, had locked the house and had gone to their relative’s house. When the couple returned at about 4 pm, they found the front door of the house forcibly opened and on entering the house, they found the rooms ransacked and on further inspecting the house, they found Rs. 20,000 cash, a gold chain, a pair of earrings, finger ring and other valuables stolen.

Additional SP Rudramuni, Dy.SP Mohammed Sujitha, CI Gopala Krishnaswamy and SI Jaiswamy, who visited the house, pressed dog squad and fingerprint experts into service.

Nanjangud Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
