House Surgeons to keep watch on those in home isolation

The District Health Department has deployed 140 House Surgeons attached to MMC&RI, for keeping a watch on COVID positive patients who are confined to home isolation across the district. Following a direction from the State Health Department, the District health authorities have assigned tasks for the selected 140 House Surgeons.

MMC&RI Dean and Director Dr. H.N. Dinesh said that the 140 House Surgeons selected for the purpose have been handed over the mobile number of home isolated patients and  they are directed to contact and keep in constant touch with them about their health. The House Surgeons have been asked to record details of the environment and  surroundings of the home isolated, advise them on the medicines to be taken and food and also to enquire about the health of others staying in the house, he said.

Pointing out that the House Surgeons are required to update the details on the Health Department website, Dr. Dinesh  said that the patients will be advised on getting admitted to Hospitals or COVID Care Centres if their health deteriorates.
