Mysuru: In separate cases, miscreants made away with gold ornaments, silver articles and cash from two houses in city.
In the first case, miscreants, who gained entry into a house at Surya Layout in Srirampura by breaking open the door, made away with 40 grams gold chain, two gold bangles weighing 20 grams, two gold finger rings weighing 8 grams and three pairs of silver lamps and five idols of Gods, all worth about Rs.2.6 lakh.
The burglary took place at the house of one Keerthishri, who had to attend the funeral of her uncle on Oct.8. When she returned the next day morning, she found the door ajar and the burglary came to light. Keerthishri later lodged a complaint at Ashokapuram Police Station.
In the second case, burglars, who gained entry into the house of one Rajeshwari, an employee of Vijaya Bank in Saraswathipuram, decamped with one gold chain worth about Rs.30,000 and Rs.15,000 cash, which was kept in the almirah inside the house.
On Sept.27, Rajeshwari, along with her husband, left for Hassan and when they returned on Oct.3, they found the door of the house open and on entering the house, the theft came to light. A complaint has been lodged at Kuvempunagar Police Station.
