Mysore/Mysuru: The Women and Child Development Department has invited applications from children for Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma Awards and State-level Awards for those who have worked for children welfare (2023-24).
Children aged 18 years, who have showed bravery in saving others will be presented with Hoysala (boys) and Chennamma (girls) bravery awards.
Individuals or Institutions who have worked for the welfare of children will also be presented with Special Award. The incident must have happened between Aug. 1, 2022 and July 31, 2023. Children born after Aug. 1, 2005 are eligible to get the prize. Selected children will get Rs. 10,000 individually and a certificate. Those individuals and institutions who have worked for welfare will be given Rs. 25,000 (individual) and Rs. 1 lakh (institution). Applications must be submitted at Women and Child Development Department Deputy Director’s Office before Sept. 15.
District-level awards
Women and Child Development Department has also invited applications from children aged between 5 and 18 years for presentation of District-level Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma Awards for the year 2023-24.
Those who have displayed exemplary (innovation and scholastic) achievement in any field, including sports, arts, culture and music, are eligible. Supporting documents of children’s achievements like certificates, article/ news about them published in any newspaper must also be submitted.
A cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and certificate will be given. Prescribed application forms can be obtained at the Office of the Deputy Director, Women and Child Development, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru-17. The forms should be filled in Kannada and submitted before Sept. 25 along with two passport size photographs, all necessary documents arranged in order and spiral-bound together and attested by Gazetted Officer.
