Mysore/Mysuru: A huge stone placed inside a dug up portion of road is waiting to take toll of unsuspecting motorists at Javagal Srinath Circle on JLB Road in city.
This reflects the negligent attitude of the officials concerned who have not bothered to get the stone removed despite the road being used by VIPs, Judges and officials of various Departments.
A few days back a portion of the road at the Circle was dug up to repair the pipeline. After the repairs were undertaken, the dug up portion was covered and asphalted. But a pit has formed in the dug up portion hampering the smooth flow of traffic besides causing a lot of inconvenience to motorists especially two and three-wheeler riders and drivers. The riders coming from Railway Station side towards Ramaswamy Circle, unable to observe the pit, ride and drive over this pit resulting in accidents. To warn motorists about the pit, this huge stone was placed inside the pit, which has become more dangerous.
Public, who have urged the authorities concerned to get the stone removed from the pit have stated that placing huge stones to warn motorists about the pit is nothing but inviting danger to motorists, especially during night.
