The Forum Purple Run was conducted by Forum Centre City Mall, Mysuru, this morning with an objective of creating awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease — a mental disorder that’s commonly prevailing among the people aged above 50 plus.
The marathon, which started early morning today, took the city by storm with over 1,500 people participating in this magnanimous event.
Runs were conducted in four categories — 3 kms, 5 kms, 10 kms and 21 kms and the top three winners were awarded with cash prizes and gift vouchers in all categories for male and female.
The Forum Management said that a part of the proceedings received from this event is being donated to National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) to put up a strong fight against the fatal disease.
