Hundreds take part in Jai Hind Marathon

Chakravarti Sulibele to address convention today evening

As part of 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Yuva Brigade had organised ‘Jai Hind Run,’ a 4.5 km marathon in city this morning.

People from across the city and surrounding places, numbering about 800, took part in the marathon, which was flagged off jointly by Thinker Chakravarti Sulibele and Mysore University NSS Co-ordinator Suresh in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the North Gate of Mysore Palace at 7 am.

The runners passed through Town Hall, Gandhi Square, Dufferin Clock Tower, Devaraj Urs Road, Narayana Shastry Road, Chamaraja Double Road, Gun House Circle, Hardinge Circle and culminated at the starting point after coving a distance of 4.5 kms.

Addressing the gathering before flagging off the marathon, Sulibele said that through this marathon, there is a need to spread the sayings of Netaji to the public besides asking the gathering to follow his (Netaji) ideologies.

Yuva Brigade Mysuru Convenor Prashanth, Convenors Mahesh, Rudresh, Girish, Darshan and S. Chandrashekar, Sainika Academy’s Sridhar and others were present on the occasion.

Convention

As part of Netaji’s birth anniversary, Thinker Chakravarti Sulibele will be addressing a convention on the topic ‘Blood and Freedom’ at Jayamma Govindegowda Kalyana Mantap in Kuvempunagar today at 7 pm.

Titular Head of the Mysore royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Junior Pontiff of Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji and others will be present on the occasion.
