Mysore Elite Ladies Circle 141, in association with Mysore Elite Round Table 256, conducted Mysuru Kiddathon — small steps to healthier tomorrow, a charity fund raiser on Sunday at Mysore University Clock Tower. There were around 520 participants in various categories such as 400mts, 1km, 3kms and 5kms with children in the age group 2-15 years.
The event was aimed at inculcating healthy habits into children by running and engaging in physical activities, not just mobile and technology.
The top three runners of each category were awarded.
The 3km girl’s category winner ran faster than the boys and broke all records by running 3km in just 13 minutes. Special children marathon was also organised where students of Nireekshe, a special school, ran 400 mts. There were around 40 children who participated in this event.
A special child Vibha ran 3kms and special child Vanditha ran 1 km with help of volunteers.
As a part of this charity fund-raiser, organisers donated sports equipment to the Nireekshe which includes Cricket set, badminton rackets, shuttle cork, carom board, tennis balls ,indoor game business and ludo.
Cr. Namratha Shenoy, National President Ladies Circle India, Tr. Siddarath, Area 13 Chairman, Round Table India, Cr. Sangeetha Mahesh Area13 Chairperson, Ladies Circle India, Cr. Priyanka, Chairperson, Mysore Elite Ladies Circle 141 and Tr. Sharath , Mysore Elite Round Table 256 were present on the occasion.
