Mysore/Mysuru: Intense summer heat and the lockdown have taken a toll on monkeys living on the steps of Chamundi Hill.
Usually, they depend on the food, fruits and other eatables offered by devotees. Now with the lockdown, the Chamundi Temple is closed for devotees. This has had a cascading effect on the monkey food.
Plus summer heat has made them to frequently quench their thirst from the water that flows from the tank.
Searing heat has forced stray cows to take shelter at the APMC market in Bandipalya. With no human activity thanks to an invisible microorganism called Coronavirus, the cows have a shady place to sit. Availability of fodder is, however, a matter of concern.
