Hunsur MLA lays foundation stone for development works

Stating that most of the water bodies in Hunsur Taluk and River Lakshmanathirtha, considered as the  lifeline of Hunsur, have gone dry with failure of rains, MLA H.P. Manjunath opined that the taluk was facing the worst drought in nearly seven decades.

He was speaking after performing guddali puja to a slew of works undertaken by PWD at Hanagudu in the taluk.

Pointing out that the severe drought has driven us to look at alternative measures for finding a permanent solution to water crisis, Manjunath lashed out at his opponents who ridiculed him saying whether the  MLA can bring rains.

Noting that 120 out of the 125 pre-election promises made by the Siddharamaiah Government have been fulfilled, the MLA promised construction of Community Hall at Hanagodu if villagers propose a suitable site for its construction.

Listing out the development works carried out by him, Manjunath said that they did not discriminate between communities in sponsoring fairs and festivals in the taluk. GP President Madhu too spoke on the occasion.
