IAF invites applications under ‘Agniveer’ scheme

Mysore/Mysuru: The District Employment Exchange Office has invited online applications from unmarried youths (girls and boys) for Agniveer Air Force recruitment conducted by Indian Air Force under ‘Agnipath.’

‘Agnipath’ is a radical recruitment policy for the Indian armed forces under which ‘Agniveers’ are hired on four-year contract for the three defence services (Army, Navy and Air Force) which will help in character building and will empower the nation’s youth.

Candidates having born between July 3, 2004 and Jan. 3, 2008 are eligible to apply.

Applicants must have a pass in PUC with Science subjects. Also, they must have secured 50 percent marks in Mathematics, Physics and English. If candidates have studied any professional course, they must have passed with 50 percent marks in English, Physics and Mathematics subjects.

Candidates, who have completed three years diploma course with 50 percent marks or candidates having completed two years of vocational courses in Mathematics and Physics from Boards recognised by the State, UTs and Central, with 50 percent marks in total and 50 percent in English subjects or candidates who have passed 12th with another stream can also apply with 50 percent marks in total and 50 percent marks in English or have passed two years of vocational courses from Education Boards recognised by the State, Central and UTs are eligible to apply.

Interested men should be a minimum of 152.5 cms in height with appropriate weight and with chest measuring a minimum of 77 cms. Women candidates should be of a minimum of 152 cms with appropriate weight.

Eligible candidates may apply online by logging on to http://agnipathvayu.cdac.in from July 8 to 28 by paying the application fee (Rs. 250). The online exam will be held on Oct. 18.
