IGP Dr. Boralingaiah wants Cops to be sound in tech

Passing out parade of 8th batch of 150 Armed Police Constables held at CAR Grounds in city; 144 among them hail from rural areas

Mysore/Mysuru: IGP (Southern Range) Dr. M.B. Boralingaiah advised the probationary Police personnel to develop certain traits for effective Policing, giving primacy to discipline in the service.

He was speaking at the passing out parade of eighth batch of probationary Armed Police Constables (APC), at the Police Training School (PTS), City Armed Reserve (CAR) Police Parade Grounds, at the foot of Chamundi Hill in city this morning.

Appreciating the Police personnel for taking out the parade in precision, Dr. Boralingaiah advised the latter ‘to calmly respond to the oppressed classes and develop mercy and sympathy towards others. The discipline learnt during the training period, should be continued while on duty.’

“Now you have reached this stage by facing physical test and writing exams among lakhs of candidates. You are good in academics through indoor training and have become physically fit with outdoor training. Both the qualities should be nurtured, as they prove beneficial in service,” he added.

 In a relevant advice, Dr. Boralingaiah suggested the probationary Policemen to develop the habit of reading and hone technical skills, as those technically sound mind in keeping pace with evolving technology, will emerge winner.

All Round Best: Sanjay Manobai from Bengaluru City, received the All Round Best trophy.

Indoor: In the indoor test, Sanjay Manobai from Bengaluru City, bagged the first prize, followed by L.M. Shivaraj of Bengaluru City second and Ravi from Kalaburagi bagged the third prize.

Outdoor: In the outdoor test, Shivaraj Siddarama Revathagav from Bengaluru City bagged the first prize, followed by Akash Desai of Belagavi district second and Zunaid Pasha of Kalaburagi bagged the third prize.

Rifle Shooting: In Rifle Shooting, A.Y. Raghavendra from Bengaluru City received the first prize, followed by Bheemrao Kaleli from Bengaluru City second and Shivaraj Siddarama Revathagav bagged the third prize.

Engineering, Regular Graduates

In all, 150 Armed Police Constables (APCs) from 18 districts, attended the 10-month foundation training  from May 13, 2025. Among them, 19 are Engineering Graduates, 6 Post- Graduates, 110 Graduates, 14 PUC passed and B.Sc. Nursing Graduates.

A whopping 144 APCs are from the rural areas and remaining six are from the urban areas.

City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mallikarjun S. Baladandi, Deputy Director of Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru, S.L. Chennabasavanna, DCP (Law and Order) Dr. Harsha Priyamvada, SP, Vigilance, Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation  (CESC) Limited, Savitha Hoogar and Principal of Police Training School DCP Siddanagowda Y. Patil were present at the passing out parade.
