Mysuru: The Department of Science, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in association with Bhramara Trust of Y.T. & Madhuri Thathachari had organised a ‘Science Experiment Demonstration’ at the college premises, here recently.
Dr. Uday Maitra, Professor, Department of Organic Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) Bengaluru, was the resource person. Speaking on the occasion, he said that preparation was the key to a successful and fulfilling scientific career and advised the students to never give up even if they were in their most critical conditions.
He demonstrated important Chemistry experiments which included checking the density of Water (H2O), Elephant’s Toothpaste (a foamy substance caused by the rapid decomposition of hydrogen peroxide using potassium iodide as a catalyst) among others. Experiment using Chemiluminescence materials captivated the young audience.
Bhramara Trust of Y.T. & Madhuri Thathachari organised demonstration to promote study of Pure Science among youths.
