Mysore/Mysuru: Four houses that were being constructed illegally on Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites were demolished by MUDA officials at R.S. Naidu Nagar in city yesterday morning.
MUDA had acquired 2.06 acre land in Survey No. 152/2A of Belavatha village behind Naidu Nagar Bus Stand in 2000 and had constructed a residential layout. Armed with the demolition order, MUDA officials, who reached the spot along with an earth excavating machine at about 6 am yesterday morning, demolished the under construction structures under Police security and reclaimed the sites worth about Rs. 1 crore.
MUDA Superintending Engineer Channakeshava, Executive Engineer Dharmendra, Assistant Executive Engineers H.P. Shivanna, Kiran, Harsha, Mohan Kumar and Srinivas, Junior Engineers and staff took part in the demolition drive.
