IMA Scam: SIT asks Roshan Baig to appear for questioning tomorrow

Bengaluru: Close on the heels of Roshan Baig submitting his resignation as an MLA to Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar yesterday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the IMA scam has served him notice summoning him to appear for questioning on July 11.

Baig, speaking to media in Vidhana Soudha earlier, said he was headed for Haj pilgrimage and he was not going to Mumbai or Goa. He neither confirmed nor denied reports that he would join BJP.

IMA Founder Mohammed Mansoor Khan, in an audio message, which he had sent after fleeing the country, had claimed that he had paid Baig Rs.400 crore, which he did not return, making his company go bankrupt.

Mansoor had also accused BDA Executive Engineer Kumar in the audio message following which the SIT had arrested him and even interrogated him.

The SIT has also arrested Village Accountant and Assistant Commissioner Nagaraj and Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Vijayshankar in the case.
