Mysuru: Demanding immediate implementation of Supreme Court order on SC/ST job promotion, AHIMSA (Kannada acronym for Minorities, Backward Classes and General Category) Vedike will take out a massive demonstration in Bengaluru tomorrow (Nov.10).
Speaking to SOM, the vedike Secretary K. Govindaiah said that the Supreme Court has struck down the consequential seniority in job promotion for SC/ST communities.
The Supreme Court’s Feb.9, 2017 order has brought relief to 82 percent of Government employees who are awaiting promotion for long. But the State Government is hesitant to implement the Supreme Court order, he said.
The rally which commences from Freedom Park at 10am, will culminate at Tripuravasini Gate of Palace Ground, where the demonstration will be held, he said.
Govindaiah said that thousands of employees from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Kodagu and all other districts from the State are expected to take part in the demonstration.
