Mysuru: Accusing Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal (KSGH) Music and Performing Arts University in-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajesh of acting against the interests of students, some University students have urged the Government to send back Prof. Rajesh to his parent Department.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Suraj, a student of the University, alleged that the in-charge VC, who is also the University Registrar (Evaluation), was pursuing an anti-student policy, which had resulted in the destruction of academic atmosphere in the University.
Pointing out that Higher Education Minister G.T. Devegowda had instructed for temporary shifting of the University to the KSOU building at Mandakalli, so that the infrastructure works in the present University campus at Lakshmipuram can be taken up, Suraj alleged that though the University was shifted on Oct.15, the infrastructure works is yet to begin at Lakshmipuram campus.
Accusing the in-charge VC of rarely visiting the temporary campus at Mandakalli, he urged the authorities to ensure that academic activities go on smoothly in the University.
He further alleged that Prof. Rajesh was dividing the students to suit his own ends and that the in-charge VC was least interested in developing the University.
Suraj urged the authorities to ensure that a new building is constructed in Lakshmipuram campus near Ballal Circle, to take suitable action against erring staff of the University and to address marks card issue.
Music University students Saraswathi, Vasanth Kumar, Kiran Kumar and Siddeshwar were present during the press meet.
