Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging delay in fulfilling their 8-point charter of demands including salary revision of staff of all the four Transport Corporations — KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC and KKRTC — the KSRTC Staff and Workers Federation and other KSRTC Unions have decided to stage an indefinite strike from 6 am on Mar. 21.
The decision to stage indefinite stir was taken by KSRTC Staff and Workers Federation, Akhila Karnataka State Road Transport Employees Maha Mandali, KSRTC Employees Federation (CITU), KSRTC and BMTC United Employees Union, KSRTC SC and ST Employees Association and KSRTC SC/ST Officers and Employees Welfare Association among other associations. On Feb. 21, 2023, during the launch of Ambari Utsav buses, KSRTC associations had submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and the Chief Minister had assured of holding talks with KSRTC employees after the State Budget and increase the pay of KSRTC employees.
Accordingly, a meeting with the officials, chaired by Transport Minister B. Sriramulu was held on Mar. 8 and an assurance was given to hike the wages.
As there was no assurance from the State Government in this regard, an indefinite stir will be held from 6 am on Mar. 21, according to the memorandum submitted to the CM.
