India ‘A’ gains first innings lead
South Africa ‘A’ skipper Aiden Markram (161,253b,20×4,2×6) and all-rounder Wiaan Mulder (131 n.o, 230b, 17×4, 1×6), scored inspiring centuries to dominated the India ‘A’ bowling attack on the third day of the ongoing unofficial test match at the SDNR Wadiyar Stadium, here yesterday. However, their efforts went in vain as the South Africa ‘A’ were bowled out for 400 in 109.3 overs to hand a first innings lead of 17-runs to India ‘A’. At close of play, India ‘A’ were 14 for no loss with Panchal (9 n.o) and A. Easwaran (5 n.o) at the crease.
Earlier, South Africa was well served by Markram and Mulder who added 155-run for the sixth wicket. It was Mohammed Siraj who broke the partnership when Markram edged one onto the stumps (297 for 6). Later, Wiaan Mulder added 59-runs for the seventh wicket with Vernon Philander (21, 39b, 1×6,1×4), before the South Africa ‘A’ innings folded up for 400. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the most successful bowler picking up four for 121. Left-arm seamer Shahbaz Nadeem kept it tight and finished with the figures of three for 76.
