Mysuru lad Suraj R. Prabodh, representing India in the India F4 Futures $15,000 Men’s Tennis Tournament at Trivandrum, yesterday won his men’s singles pre-quarterfinal match against Anirudh Chandrashekar and entered the quarter-finals.
Suraj Prabodh continued his fine run in the Tournament by registering a well earned 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over qualifier Anirudh in a tie which lasted for one hour and thirty three minutes. Suraj served well and won 86% of his first serves compared to his rival’s 86%. He won 90% of his service games which proved vital.
Mysuru lad S.D. Prajwal Dev lost his pre-quarterfinal tie to third seeded Arjun Kadhe 3-6, 1-6 and bowed out of the men’s singles competition.
