Indian Student Parliament’s 10th Annual Conclave at New Delhi from Feb. 20 to 23

Mysuru:  The Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (Indian Student Parliament) will be holding its 10th Annual National Conclave of students from Feb.20 to 23 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Addressing a press conference at University of Mysore on Nov. 30, Indian Student Parliament Karnataka State Co-ordinator H.E. Abhishek said that the event will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju on Feb. 20 at 10 am at Vigyan Bhavan. About 1,800 student leaders from all States in the country would participate.

Continuing, he said that the Annual National Conclave will have eight different sessions covering various issues of national and international eminence where every session would be addressed by a Union Minister, Assembly Speaker of a State, Vice-Chancellor and three other eminent Speakers. 

Topics to be discussed

The topics to be discussed at the Conclave are: Session 1: Learn Before You Lean – Following Social Media & Celebrities; Session 2: Caste to Class or Class to Caste – Where are we really moving?; Session 3: Combating Terrorism, Insurgency and Naxalism – Causes and Challenges; Session 4: Leaping to 5 Trillion Economy – Chances and Challenges; Session 5: A Billion and Still Growing – Has Hum 2 – Hamare 2 Worked?; Session 6: Can ‘Young India Rise to Zero Hunger, Zero Poverty by 2030?; Session 7: India and Emerging World Order and Session 8: India in the Mirror – A Timeline of 7 Decades.

Apart from the eight academic sessions, the inauguration and valedictory sessions will be addressed by various luminaries in the field of media, politics, sports, judiciary, social activism and spirituality among others. The Conclave will be addressed by more than 150 eminent personalities from all walks of life.

Awards to be given

The awards given at the Indian Student Parliament are: Aadarsh Mukhyamantri Award (Ideal Chief Minister); Ideal Legislative Assembly Speaker / Council Chairman Award; Aadarsha Yuva Vidhayak Puraskar (Ideal Youth Legislator Award) — Best Outstanding Performance in Development Work and Promotion of Parliamentary Democracy; Conferment of Yuva Adhyatmik Guru Puraskar  (for Outstanding Contribution in Spiritual Renaissance of India and Promotion of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam) and Conferment of Uccha Shikshit Aadarsh Yuva Sarpanch Puraskar to Highly Educated Sarpanchs of different States of India for expression of Commitment towards roots.
