India’s Senior Super Star Award to Cartoonist Panduranga Rao

Mysore/Mysuru: The prestigious India’s Senior Super Star of the Year Khyaal 50  Above 50, India’s biggest Senior Talent Hunt Award, was given to noted Cartoonist B.V. Panduranga Rao in the ‘Special Category’ as Runner-up Prize for the year 2025.

He was presented with a certificate, a medal and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. Participants over 50 years of age from all over the country had taken part.

Rao, 82, was recognised for  his outstanding contribution in the field of Cartooning, numerous achievements, Record Solo Cartoon Exhibitions, Cartoon Workshops,  publication of his works in National and International Publications and so on.

His creations have got into Limca Book of Records 14 times, India Book of Records 15 times, various World Records 13 times.

He has won numerous awards at National and International-level Cartoon Contests and his works are published in Catalogs and exhibited in over 50 countries.

Multifarious Rao was a Cricketer, former Cricket Umpire and is a Badminton player till date.

A retired Engineer from Bhilai Steel Plant and a Hobby Cartoonist for the past 56 years, Rao was born in Mysuru and studied in Chamundipuram Middle School and Hardwicke High School before continuing his studies in Bengaluru.
