Mysore/Mysuru: The Annual Feast of Infant Jesus at the Infant Jesus Cathedral, Hinkal, will be celebrated tomorrow (Sunday). Fr. Joju Chowallore OFM Cap will celebrate the Holy Mass and Novena at 6.30 pm today (Saturday) followed by the Eucharistic Procession, lead by Fr. Thomas Kachirayil, Director, Department of Catechism, Diocese of Mananthavadi.
On Sunday (Jan. 14), on the Main Feast Day, there will be Holy Mass at 7 am. Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath, Bishop of Mandya, will be the main celebrant for the Solemn High Mass in Malayalam at 10.30 am.
Around 3,000 people are expected to take part in the Annasantharpane at 12.30 pm. Archbishop Bernard Moras, Apostolic Administrator, Diocese of Mysore, will officiate the Solemn Festal High Mass in Kannada at 4.30 pm followed by the grand candle light procession in honour of Infant Jesus with the famous shingarimela to the Ring Road Junction, Hinkal.
There will be shingarimela performance and fireworks display at 7.30 pm. Kozhikode Srushti will stage the Malayalam drama ‘Nammal’ at 8 pm.
Special arrangements have been made for the Crown Offering to Infant Jesus during the Feast, according to Fr. Thomas Mangalathil, the Parish Priest and P.R. George, the General Convener.
