Chairperson of Infosys Foundation, Sudha Murty was sworn in as a Member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, which governs the famous Lord Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala, yesterday.
The oath of Office and Secrecy was administered by TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao.
After taking oath as Member, Sudha Murty said that she had visited the hills when she was child some decades ago and thanked the God for giving her opportunity to serve the devotees and the Almighty, temple sources said.
Sixty-six-year-old Sudha Murty, philanthropist, was appointed by the Andhra Pradesh Government in the place of industrialist J. Sekhar Reddy who was sacked from TTD Board following detection of huge amounts of cash and gold from his premises by the Income Tax Department during raids in Chennai and other places in December 2016.
