Mysore/Mysuru: On the occasion of Mask Day, Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central distributed reusable masks to Pourakarmikas at a simple function held near Dufferin Clock Tower in city recently.
Speaking on the occasion, MCC Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraju said, “Even during the lockdown period, Pourakarmikas were working day and night to keep the cities clean and hygienic and we should be thankful to them. It is laudable that members of Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central are distributing reusable masks to these hard-working Pourakarmikas. As wearing mask is compulsory for all of us, people should come forward to donate masks to poor people. We should also cultivate the habit of dispensing used masks in a proper way. We should not throw them on the streets as there is a risk of infection spread.”
President of Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central Kavitha Vinod lauded the efforts of all the Pourakarmikas who are exposing themselves to risks so that we can stay healthy and safe. “At this primary stage, Club members have organised this mask distribution programme. In the upcoming days, we are planning to organise many more social welfare activities by maintaining social distancing,” she said.
Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central convenor Lakshmi Arun, Past President Chandrika Sudhir, M.N. Prema and others were present.
