Through this column, I would like to draw the attention of the higher authorities concerned towards the issue of increasing road accidents in city.
Road accidents are a major concern for the residents of Vijayanagar 1st Stage, 80 ft. road these days.
Reckless, rash driving and driving in the wrong side seems to be a major cause of accidents, be it big or small.
Absence of a divider/speed breaker is adding to the traffic problem on this stretch.
In this month alone, I have noticed 3 accidents right in front of my house. I am not sure how many would have occurred throughout the road.
Hence, on behalf of the residents of the locality, I request the authorities to construct speed breakers and install dividers throughout the main road so that fast moving vehicles may slow down and stop for a while to help the pedestrians cross the road with ease.
