The junction at Reliance Supermarket – Water Tank is very busy owing to high volume of vehicles plying towards Infosys, Kumbarakoppal, Gokulam and other areas. Many ksrtc buses also ply through this junction.
In addition, the buses have a designated stop which adds to the chaos. The pedestrian traffic due to the bus stop and otherwise owing to the road side eatery that has uncontrollably mushroomed in this area is a huge concern.
Before a major catastrophe happens or to prevent any tragedy, I request Traffic Police Department to install automated traffic signal light to regulate the three-way traffic and the pedestrians with necessary footpath and medians.
The bus stops need to be scientifically located to ensure that buses don’t obstruct the line of vision of other vehicles and the pedestrians.
I suggest that young Traffic Wardens from nearby schools can be trained to volunteer the traffic management as part of community service rotationally on hourly basis and a prize be given to the best candidate or school as an encouragement.
