City Unit of Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat is organising an Inter-College Vachana Singing (recitation) contests as part of its Endowment programme on Oct. 27 at 10.30 am in association with the Post Graduate Kannda Department, JSS College for Arts, Science and Commerce on B.N. road, at the College auditorium. Colleges are requested to send their representatives to the contests.
Only students of University of Mysore are eligible to participate. Participants must bring permission letters from the Principal of the College and Identity Card. Contestants can sing just one Vachana and no explanations should be given for the Vachanas.
Use of instruments except Shruti Pettige is allowed. One lecturer can accompany the students. Prizes and Certificates will be given for the selected candidates. Light snacks in the afternoon will be provided. Participants should be present 15 minutes before commencement of the programme. Contestants must register their names along with permission letters before Oct.20. Decision of the judges will be final.
