Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Dinesh Coaching Centre had organised a District-level Inter-High School Kannada Debate Contest on the topic ‘Chunavana samayadalli rajakiya pakshagalu ghoshisuva uchita bhagyagalu deshada abhivrudhige maraka’ (Free schemes and benefits announced by political parties during election time are harmful to country’s development) at Rotary West Auditorium in Saraswathipuram here yesterday.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme Industrialist K.V. Ananthashayana said it is important that every child must build self-confidence. “We get very less chances in life. So grab the opportunity at the right time and make your own path towards success,” he advised the participants.
Over 25 High School students took part in the debate competition. The first three winners are: Tanya L. Bhat of Sri Sharada Public School (first), Supragna Jain of Vijaya Vittala School (second) and Kiran Kumar of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) School (third). They bagged a cash prize of Rs.3,000, Rs.2,000 and Rs.1,000 respectively along with a citation. Consolation prizes were presented to Pradyumna Bhat of BVB and Y.D. Chaitra of Sri Sharada Public School. Besides, Sri Sharada Public School bagged the overall championship.
Coaching Centre Head N.V. Dinesh, Sowmya Dinesh, Prashant Raj, Contest Judges A. Vishwanath, C. Vishwanath, H. Satyaprasad and others were present.
