Inter-State vehicle lifter nabbed

Car, two bikes recovered

Hunsur: The Hunsur Rural Police, on Sept. 25, have nabbed an inter-State vehicle lifter and have recovered a car and two bikes from him. The arrested has been identified as Nishan Ahmed, 24,    son of Mansoor Ahmed, a resident of Kannur.

The Police nabbed him when he was moving around in the stolen car in a suspicious manner. During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of lifting the car on Sept. 23 near Saraswathi Marbles in Hunsur and had taken it to Mysuru to sell it and was returning when he met with an accident. The accused also confessed of lifting a KTM Duke bike worth Rs. 2.5 lakh in Gonikoppal and on Sept. 24 stole a Yamaha bike in Virajpet. He had hid both the bikes and had fled. The accused had also lifted two bikes at Talacherry in 2013.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police recovered the car and two bikes from him. Dy. SP Bhaskar Rai, CI Poovaiah, SI Puttaswamy and staff Surendrajeet, Basappa and Naveen took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
