Gold chains worth about Rs.2.37 lakh recovered, four cases solved in Devaraja Police limits
Mysuru: Devaraja Police have arrested a woman on charges of lifting gold chains during rush hours at bus stand and have recovered four gold chains weighing about 79 grams and worth about Rs. 2.37 lakh from her.
The accused is 35-year-old Narasamma, a resident of Bapunagar Mangarawadi in Kalaburagi.
On July 24, Narasamma, who had lifted a gold chain of a woman at City Bus Stand, was caught by the public who had handed her over to Devaraja Police.
Devaraja Police, who took Narasamma into custody, conducted interrogation, during which the accused is said to have told the Police that she had earlier lifted three gold chains and based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered four gold chains weighing about 79 grams and worth Rs.2.37 lakh from her. The Police have solved four cases in Devaraja Police limits.
Devaraja Inspector Prasanna Kumar, SIs S. Raju and Leelavathi, ASI Udaykumar and staff Somashetty, Venugopal, Suresh, Nandish, Mokadhar Shariff, Rathnamma, Dawal B. Valikar, Chandrika, Rekha, Shilpa and Shashikala took part in the nabbing and seizing operation, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
