Mysuru: Literary works penned by Poet Laureate Kuvempu and his son-writer Poornachandra Tejaswi’s will be discussed at Kuvempu’s house ‘Udayaravi’ in V.V. Mohalla at 4 pm this evening.
‘Chakora’, a literary group initiated by Kannada Sahitya Academy, is organising the event as part of its first anniversary.
‘Chakora’ is holding monthly literary discussions at Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS) premises, Manasagangothri and is now hosting the event at ‘Udayaravi’. It is for the first time that literary discussions is taking place at Kuvempu’s residence.
The event titled ‘Kavi Maneyalli Kavya Kalarava’ will begin with an introduction of the poet’s residence, followed by an interaction in which Kuvempu’s daughter Tarini and son-in-law Prof. K. Chidananda Gowda, former Kuvempu University V-C, will talk. Later, singers will sing bits from Kuvempu’s ‘Sri Ramayana Darshanam’ and other poems of the poet- laureate.
R. Chalapathy, Senior Research Assistant of Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada will moderate the discussion. KIKS Director, Prof. Neelagiri.M. Talwar, Poet Satish Javaregowda, ‘Chakora’ member N.G. Ramesh and a host of Writers and Enthusiasts will take part.
