Interaction to make Mysuru a hardware hub held

Mysuru:  Chairman of India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) Pankaj Mohindroo called upon industrialists to focus on manufacturing competitive electronic goods to compete with International players.

He was interacting with various industrialists at Hotel Silent Shores in city this morning to exchange views and develop a roadmap to catch the attention of policy makers to develop  Mysuru as the hardware capital of the country and to discuss the advantages that the city has for the electronics Industry. The event was organised by Vinyas Innovative Technologies Pvt. Ltd and

He said that China, Korea and Japan were dominating the international market by manufacturing cheap and quality electronic goods. China has been producing world’s 70 per cent of electronic goods. “To compete with ‘China programme on electronics’ as part of the policies of Union and State Governments, all small, medium and big industrialists and start-ups must concentrate on manufacturing competitive electronic goods,” he said.

Pankaj also said Indian industrialists were successful in their efforts of producing quality goods in food, apparel, leather and other sector at global market and remained competitive in these strong areas today.

“India which was struggling to fill the stomachs of the people and achieved tremendous progress in food grains production and has become self-sufficient and exporting many products even while facing stiff global competition thus remained competitive across the world. Likewise, efforts must be made to achieve progress in electronics goods manufacturing and export areas,” he said.

He further said that Mysuru Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) cluster was also contributing on its own for the growth electronic goods industry. The presence of ESDM in city promotes technology entrepreneurs from Karnataka so that they could compete with bigger cities. This cluster also support start-ups in the field of automotive, consumer durables, instrumentation, medical, telecommunication sectors and others in the region.  

Over 30 industrialists and entrepreneurs from Mysuru Mandya and Bengaluru were present. Earlier, he visited various industries including Innovative Technologies Pvt Ltd. at Mysuru ESDM cluster and collected feedback about the development of Mysuru as potential hub of hardware hub.
