Curtain raiser event this evening
Mysuru: An International Conference on ‘Knowledge Partnerships to Advance UN Sustainable Development Goals’ has been organised on Nov.17 and 18 by St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru in collaboration with Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) University Network, Siam University, Thailand, Chulalongkorn University Global Network (CGN), Thailand, Trans-Disciplinary University (TDU), Bengaluru and The Sustainability Platform (TSP) India and Xavier Board of Higher Education in India.
The main agenda of this Conference is to explore knowledge partnership and cooperation between UN system and institutions of higher learning especially in the Asia-Pacific region.
A curtain raiser event has been organised on Nov.16 at 6 pm in the Indoor Stadium of the College. Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of SIAM University, Dr. John Arul Philip, Dean of Education and Cognitive Science, Director of Asia Centre of e-learning (ACE) and Asia e University, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Dr. P. Wooday Krishna, Chairman, Gandhi Peace Foundation, will be the guests of honour. Dr. Ravikant Joshi, Team Leader (TSGNULM)-Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, Dr. Sukumaran Nair, Chairman, Public Sector Restructuring and Internal Audit Board (PSRIAB), Government of India, Dr. Bala Pisupati, Chairman, Conservation Governance, TDU, Bengaluru, are the invited Speakers. Bishop of Mysore, Rt. Rev. Dr. K.A William, will preside.
The formal inauguration and conference will be held on Nov.17 from 9.30 am at the same venue. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Royal Thai Consul-General, Chennai will be the guest of honour. The inauguration be followed by a keynote address and a plenary session by experts. Parallel workshops on SDGs will be held during the conference.
The valedictory will be on Nov.18 at 3.30 pm. Dr. K. Ganapathy, President, Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation of India, will deliver the valedictory address. Dr. Manju Reddy, Neutro Scientist, Los Angles, USA and Founder President, Arodhum Foundation, will be presiding.
