Mysore/Mysuru: The city Cyber Economics and Narcotics (CEN) Police Station had organised a cycle jatha yesterday to mark the International Day of Awareness against Drug Abuse. The cycle jatha was flagged from Kote Anjaneya Swamy Temple near the Mysore Palace.
The cycle jatha was inaugurated by Devaraja ACP Shashidhar. Prof. Jagadeesh, from Polymer Science Department of the University of Mysore (UoM) said that people, especially youngsters are easily attracted towards drugs and they put their family members into untold miseries. In the process, their health is also affected and many also take to crime as they need money to buy drugs.
CEN Police Inspector Jayakumar, Sub-Inspectors Siddesh, Anil and staff were part of the rally that passed through K.R. Circle, Ayurveda College Circle, City Railway Station, Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa Circle (Metropole Circle), Ramaswamy Circle, Chamaraja Double Road and Jayachamaraja Circle (Hardinge Circle) to reach CEN Police Station.
Over 60 Police personnel from Narasimharaja Police Station also observed the International Day against Drug Abuse by taking out a march through pars of the area falling under the Police Station’s jurisdiction.
