Mysuru/Mysore: The Department of Computer Applications at JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru, is organising a one-day International Seminar on “AI in Real Time: Challenges and Opportunities” on Jan.13 from 9.30 am at its Seminar Hall I in Golden Jubilee Bhavan.
Intelligent machines are becoming increasingly important in modern life and playing an important, even ubiquitous, role in future everyday decision making. For such machines, there is potential to improve nearly every aspect of human life, particularly when Artificial Intelligence (AI) can overcome the well-known shortcomings in human decisions making such as those identified by behavioural economists.
The aim of this seminar is to provide participants a review of the latest challenges and upcoming opportunities in AI for next few years.
Keynote speaker
Anil K. Jain, a University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University where he conducts research in pattern recognition, machine learning, computer vision and biometrics recognition, will be the keynote speaker. He was a member of the United States Defence Science Board and Forensics Science Standards Board.
For advancing pattern recognition, Jain was awarded Doctor Honoris Causa by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He was Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence.
The seminar also has panel discussions and talks by eminent personalities known for their contributions in the field of AI. The programme will be inaugurated by Prof. T. N. Nagabhushan, Principal and Dean, JSS STU. Seminar Advisor Prof. D.S. Guru and Organising Chairs Dr. V.N. Manjunath Aradhya and Dr. B.S. Harish will be present.
