Mysuru: The Executive Engineer (EE) of Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) has clarified that no irregularities has occurred with regard to the repair of faulty leaking pipes. The allegations that the contract had been awarded, bills had been paid violating the rules and while awarding the contract, the Council had been misled are all false, said the EE in a clarifications.
The tender was released only after bringing it to the notice of the Council, where a discussion was held on the subject, he has said.
The Corporation had given the contract to JUSCO to remodel, manage and maintain 24X7 water supply system to all the Wards in the Mysuru city. From April 1, 2015, the MCC took over the distribution of water and on piecework basis, the work was being attended to. Later, to stop the leakage of water, the work was awarded through e-tender process, justified the EE.
To award the contract, the tender-bearing no: MCC/VVWS/EE/GO/T.N.19/2015-16/1094/dated: 08.02.2016 and revised Tender No. MCC/VVWS/EE/GO/T.N.19/2015-16/1769/dated:17.02.2016, the advertisements had been released.
The last date for submitting the tender was March 2, 2016 and the last date for the opening of the technical bid was March 4, 2016, he has stated in the clarification.
Based on the tender, the qualified bidder was given the contract and Rs. 19.19 lakh was released monthly. Now, the water is being distributed to all the Wards including the ones in the extensions.
When the tender was called for the first time, the estimate for a month was done and based on that the contract was given for a year. Based on this, the bills were being settled. All this was brought to the notice of the Council. However, a few who are working against the interest of the Corporation, are hurling false accusations, clarified the EE.
