Is road resurfacing work necessary at V.V. Mohalla?

Sir,

Suddenly today, road resurfacing work began on 5th Main, V.V. Mohalla. The road was in perfectly good condition with no potholes, yet the entire stretch is being resurfaced. When I asked the workers who the responsible engineer was, they had no idea.

Last week, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) resurfaced a large portion of 1st Main Road from a few metres from V.V. Puram Police Station in V.V. Mohalla to the Nirmala Convent gate.

Within just a few days, the resurfaced road started peeling off, causing multiple two-wheelers to skid when applying brakes. The road has become hazardous, especially at night, and more accidents are likely to occur if it is not repaired immediately.

I cannot understand why the MCC does not conduct a scientific survey of the roads and allocate their limited resources to repair the many other roads that are in dire need of attention.
