J.M. Venkatesh Verma (86), an ex-serviceman and a resident of Ramanuja Road, passed away yesterday afternoon following brief illness at his residence in city.
He leaves behind his wife, two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.
Last rites were performed in city this morning.
Venkatesh had taken part in wars with China and Pakistan for which he was awarded a special medal from the Defence Ministry.
