Mysuru: The philosophies and preachings of Bhagawan Mahaveer are not limited to any particular sect or religion, but it is for every living being and for a peaceful world. This year Bhagawan Mahaveer Jayanti is being celebrated on his birth day, Chaitra Shukla Trayodashi, on Apr.17.
To commemortae Bhagawan Mahaveer Jayanti in Mysuru, Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh has organised an 8-day Mahaveer Gaatha programme at Sri Parshwa Vatika in Siddharthanagar between 8.30 pm and 10 pm everyday from Apr.11 to 17.
Jain Saint Upadhyay Shri Praveenrishiji Maharaj will deliver lectures and narrate how Vardhaman became Mahaveer, the preachings of Bhagawan Mahaveer, the philosophies of Jainism, how the world can lead a peaceful environment, how to lead a happy family and many other general topics during Mahaveer Gaatha programme.
President of Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Sangh, Mysuru, B.A. Kailashchand Jain told SOM that Shri Praveenrishiji Maharaj accompanied by Jain Muni Sri Teertheshrishiji Maharaj arrived at Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Bhavan in Halladakeri on Apr.6. The Jain Muni is delivering discourse on various topics daily from 9 am to 10 am, which will continue till next week.
President of Sri Sthanakvasi Jain Yuva Sanghatan Rajan Baghmar said that Mahaveer Gaatha programme is open to all. Praveenrishiji will stay for a week at Sri Parshwa Vatika, where Bhagawan Mahaveer Jayanti will be celebrated on Apr.17.
