Mysuru: Co-operation and Mysuru District Minister S.T. Somashekar on Tuesday said that ‘Janasnehi Adalats’ will be held in all Assembly Constituencies of the district after the Gram Panchayat (GP) polls. He was speaking at the Quarterly KDP (Karnataka Development Programme) progress review meeting at the ZP office here.
Maintaining that the Adalats will be held to address the grievances of the people, he said that Revenue Department will hold the Adalats under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner.
Directing the officials to compulsorily attend the Adalats and solve the problems of the people, he said that the officials can contact him if they face any hurdles in addressing issues.
Referring to the issue of compensation to farmers, Somashekar said Rs. 40,000 per acre can be provided as incentive under MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) for cultivation of Nanjangud Rasabale, which has the Geographical Indication (GI) tag. He said that farmers should also be encouraged to cultivate other GI crops like Erangere Brinjal and Mysuru Mallige.
Somashekar also directed the DDPI to expedite repair works on dilapidated school buildings in rural areas and to come up with an action plan for school development.
