Janata Curfew: Beauty parlours and salons too shut

Mysore/Mysuru: Day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to take part in the ‘Janata Curfew’ on Mar. 22, Mysuru District Beautician and Beauty Parlour Owners Association has announced that all beauty parlours and hair salons in Mysuru district will remain closed on Sunday.

Yesterday, speaking to Star of Mysore, Association President Veda Rai said, “In the wake of Janata Curfew, we have decided to close all our services on Sunday in the district. We welcome this move, which is aimed at encouraging public to stay indoors and maintain social distancing.”

“As a precautionary measure, we have informed all those working in saloons to wear masks and use sanitiser. Our customers will also be wearing masks while undergoing procedures such as eyebrow correction,” she said.

Mysuru District Savita Samaja President N.R. Nagesh said, “There are over 1,500 salons in the district including 700 plus salons in the city. All members of the Association have agreed to close down on Sunday.”
