Mysuru: As part of Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, Sri Krishna Seva Samithi Charitable Trust has organised the following programmes at Alwar Kala Bhavan in Sri Krishna Temple, Gokulam 3rd Stage:
Aug. 31 at 6.30 pm: Dance feature ‘Krishnarpanamatsu’ by Kumar Performance Arts Centre, Mysuru, Directed and Choreographed by Dr. K. Kumar.
Sept. 1 at 6 pm: Vocal recital by Vid. S.R. Vinay; Vidu. Aditi Krishna Prakash on violin, Vid. Sunada Krishna on mridanga and Vid. Udaya Kumar on tabla.
Recipient of Karnataka Kalashree Award Dr. K. Kumar has dedicated over 40 years to the field of Bharatanatyam dance, establishing himself as a multifaceted and accomplished artiste. He has been serving as a Professor and Head of the Dance Department at the University of Mysore’s College of Fine Arts for the past 35 years. He organises the “International Kalemane Festival” every month, providing a platform for thousands of artistes.
Vid. S.R. Vinay, initiated into music by Vidushis Seethalakshmi and Lalitha Chandramouli, later came under the able tutelage of Vidwan Malladi Sri Suribabu.
Vinay is the recepient of Nada Kishora Award by Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha, Mysuru and Ananya Prathibha Puraskara from Ananya Cultural Academy, Bengaluru and many more.
He and his wife Vidushi Radhika Iyengar, a Bharathanatyam artiste, are Directors of Naada Narthana School of Music and Dance in Bengaluru.
