Mysuru: The 104th jayanti celebrations of Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, which was scheduled to be held at Suttur in Nanjangud taluk on Aug. 29, has been postponed.
According to a press release from the Convenor of Jayanti Mahotsava Samiti, the celebrations had been postponed owing to recent floods, causing damage to life and properties.
However, it has been decided to celebrate the Jayanti Mahotsava in a simple manner by offering special pujas to the Gadduge of Sri Rajendra Swamiji in Suttur.
Meanwhile, the one-day salary contributed by Mahavidyapeetha employees for the Mahotsava will be utilised for flood relief works along with contributions by others.
