JCBs’ wrong usage: Use flat buckets

Sir,

Nowadays JCBs are being used for all digging and soil- filling purpose. Work is being accomplished fast with minimum physical labour. With this advantage, some problems are created by JCBs. When one half of the road is dug and trenches filled after laying down of pipes, repair etc., the JCBs use spiked buckets to pull the  soil back into the dug trench. These spikes make deep scratches (wounds) on the good portion of the road. This in turn obstructs smooth motoring and also potholes get formed whenever water seeps through these deep scratches.

Through this column, I bring the above to the notice of the authorities concerned and request them to use flat buckets (without spikes) for all soil-pulling and trench-filling. Also, whenever JCBs are used by private parties, due to negligence of operators, the  roads are getting spoiled. I feel that the JCB owners are to be fined if they spoil the roads during traverse and working. I request the authorities to act immediately as lot of digging and construction work is happening in Mysuru city.
