JD(S) to host intellectual conclave tomorrow

Mysuru: To identify and find solutions in the education sector, the JD(S) is hosting an intellectual conclave in city on Jan.8 (tomorrow).

Former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the University of Mysore (UoM) & Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and JD(S) leader, Prof. K.S. Rangappa told reporters yesterday that the party State President H.D. Kumaraswamy will attend the event scheduled to be held at Kalamandira at 11 am.

Former VCs, Professors, writers and educationalists will attend the conclave and discuss the problems and suggest solutions. As many retired Professionals reside in Mysuru, the conclave has been organised in city. The participants from Bengaluru and other places will attend. A large number of youths will also participate. JD(S) leaders like A.H. Vishwanath will be present.

He said that Kumaraswamy has extensively toured many countries and has studied the education and agricultural scenarios and will share his ideas with the participants. After the conclave, Kumaraswamy will meet industrialists and entrepreneurs at Jnanasarovara International Residential School campus.

To a query, Prof. Rangappa said that K. Harish Gowda, the party leader, who is away from the party activities since a few days, will also participate in the event. It may be mentioned that Harish Gowda is an aspirant of the party ticket from Chamaraja Assembly constituency. Rangappa has been declared as the candidate from the constituency.

Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, Corporators B.L. Bhyrappa, R. Lingappa, K.V. Mallesh, and K.T. Cheluvegowda were present.
