Mysuru: Demanding revival of Srirama Sugar Factory at Chunchanakatte in K.R. Nagar taluk, about 30 members of the JD(S) youth wing staged a demonstration in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust opposite City Law Courts Complex here yesterday morning.
Claiming that the Congress Government had turned a deaf ear to numerous pleas of K.R. Nagar MLA S.R. Mahesh seeking revival of the shutdown factory, which was catering to the needs of sugarcane growers of the region, the protesters demanded early revival of the factory and thus come to the rescue of hundreds of workers. JD(S) Yuva Morcha City President S. Lokesh, office-bearers Mudduraj, Gurudatt and others led the protest.
