Mysore/Mysuru: Jelly stone heap dumped near the transformer from the past fifteen days for road asphalting works at Azeez Sait Nagar is posing danger to the residents of the area.
The jelly stone heap dumped under a transformer near Shaalu Bakery in Azeez Sait Nagar of Ward No. 34 is causing inconvenience to school children who usually take this route daily. There are chances of students climbing the jelly stone heap which may result in them coming in contact with the transformer and get electrocuted. There are chances of jelly stones getting scattered on the road which may also pose danger to motorists.
The road asphalting works has come to a standstill even though the jelly stones was dumped about 15 days ago.
Even though several officials and elected representatives commute on the same road every day, they are least bothered about the complaints by the residents about the danger. Besides, the negligence of the contractors, who have left the works incomplete is also a reason for this situation.
However, this is not the first time these types of inconveniences have happened in the area. Complaints regarding stinking garbage, bad roads, overflowing manhole etc., can be heard from the residents of the locality. The residents have urged the authorities concerned to complete the works at the earliest.
